Description

This is an unidentified chest tomb located in the churchyard, about 1 meter east of the porch of the Church of St Barnabas. It dates from the 17th century or early 18th century and is made of stone. The tomb features a flat lid with cyma moulding along the edge. On the south side, there are three pilasters, each with two parallel recesses resembling fluting and topped with semi-circular shapes. Between the pilasters is a panel with plain moulding on the sides, returning as a semi-circular head, along with plain dummy impost blocks and a keystone, and fielded spandrels. The plinth is covered by the ground. The north side is plain, consisting of three vertical blocks with plain blocks in between and a chamfered plinth. The ends are made of a single stone with plain moulding framing two panels, each with a semi-circular head within a rectangular frame.
