Description

SNOWSHILL SNOWSHILL VILLAGE SP 0833-0933 12/40 Unidentified monument in the churchyard, about lm east of porch, Church of St Barnabas GV II Chest tomb. C17 or early C18. Stone. Flat lid, cyma moulding to edge. South side, 3 pilasters, each with 2 parallel recesses as fluting, with semi-circular tops. Between, panel with plain moulding to sides, returned as semi-circular head, plain dummy impost blocks and keystone, fielded spandrels. Plinth covered by ground. North side plain, 3 vertical blocks with plain blocks between, chamfered plinth. Ends: Single stone, plain moulding framing 2 panels, each with semi-circular head, within rectangular frame. (D.
