Description
This is an unidentified chest tomb located in the churchyard, about 10 meters west of the south-west corner of the south aisle of the Church of St Bartholomew. It is probably from the early 18th century and is made of stone. The tomb features a flat lid with a moulded edge. On the north side, there are two bolection-moulded panels with semi-circular heads, and cherubs' heads are depicted in three spandrels, framed by the returns of the ends. The east end has scrolls with cherubs' heads above a skull and swags above. The west end also has scrolls framing a sunk panel with an ovolo edge, which contains an open book with a crown above it. The south side features a fielded panel with a laurel roll edge, drapery on each side, and leaf carving on the returns of the ends. The inscription on the tomb is illegible as it is sunk into the ground.
