Description
The white monument and adjoining headstone are located in the churchyard about 9.5 meters north of the west window on the north side of the Church of St Catherine. This Grade II listed pedestal tomb commemorates Mary White, who died in 1810. It is made of stone and features a swept top with a moulded edge and indented corners. The plain frieze has a central double reed and a raised square panel with moulded edges on the sides, supported by a moulded base on wider, plain paving. The inscriptions are partly overgrown with ivy. The adjoining headstone has a cambered top with scalloped corners and a sunk line all around. The first word is in Gothick lettering, using a mix of upper and lower case, and it features good lettering. This headstone likely commemorates various White children, probably from around 1835.
