Description

The Wintle Monument is a pedestal tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 2 meters east of the northeast corner of the nave of the Church of St. Lawrence. It commemorates Mary Wintle, who died in 1819, and is made of stone. The monument features a low pyramid top with a step to weathering and a moulded edge on the lid. The plain frieze has paterae at each end and a raised moulding below. The north and south faces have raised ovals with a moulded edge and corner paterae, while the east and west faces display raised rectangular panels topped with ornate ogee heads. The plinth has a moulded top and rests on a square stone base with a furrowed vertical face. There are later inscriptions on the monument.
