Description
Lord's Hill House is a house from the second quarter of the 19th century, with later additions. The exterior features rendered walls that are lined to resemble ashlar, topped with a slate roof. The building has a four-window front, is two rooms deep, and includes a single-bay extension that is one room deep, all standing two storeys high. The main facade faces south and includes a plinth.
To the right of the center is a half-glazed front door with two flush panels at the bottom, accessed by one stone step and topped with a semi-circular fanlight. This door is sheltered by an open porch with a trellis design and a hipped sheet-metal roof, featuring a timber finial against the wall. Each side of the door has a 16-pane sash window with a dropped dummy keystone, while the wall at the left end is plain.
On the first floor, there are four smaller windows of the same design. The roof has wide flat eaves and a hipped shape, with two chimney stacks located along the center line of the roof: one is positioned behind the window to the left of the front door, and the other is between the door and the window to the right.
The right side of the house features a two-storey timber verandah with a flat roof. The left side has a standard sash window on the ground floor, and a set-back wing that includes a 16-pane sash window on the ground floor, paired with similar windows on the first floor. The roof matches that of the main section, and there is an end chimney. Inside, there is a fireplace in the right front room with a reeded surround and corner paterae, but the rest of the interior was not inspected.
