Description

The cross finial, located approximately 25 meters west of the Ellenborough Park Hotel, is a Grade II listed structure that may have originally been situated on a roof. It is dated and initialled 'R.M.I 1628'. Made of limestone, the finial features an octagonal shaft that stands about 2 meters tall. The shaft is decorated with an incised date and two heraldic shields: one representing Huddlestone with a trellis pattern and the other possibly representing De la Bere, which has a diagonal bar but lacks the martlets.
