Description

This is a section of wall with a finial located approximately 40 meters south of the tower of the Church of St. Mary in Woodford. The finial, which is likely from the 14th century, is mounted on a section of wall built in the 19th century. The wall is made of limestone ashlar and features a ribbed design with a moulded capital. The finial was originally the crown of the church spire and was probably removed in the 19th century. This structure is included for its group value with the church.
