Description
The Rectory is an 18th-19th century rectory, likely designed by J. Teasdale around 1818/20. It is constructed from squared coursed limestone with an ashlar facade and has a slate roof. The building follows a double-depth plan and is in the Regency style. The main front has three windows. A central entrance consists of glazed doors with a fanlight above, flanked by columns. Flanking this are arch-headed sash windows with glazing bars, with one window set within an arch-head recess. Drip moulds are above the ground-floor openings. The first floor has sash windows with glazing bars. A raised string course runs between the floors. The roof is hipped, with rendered brick stacks at the ends. A side elevation features sash windows and a central porch with columns supporting a frieze and cornice. The rear of the building was altered in the mid-20th century. The interior has not been inspected. Original drawings of the house are signed by J. Teasdale, and are held in the Northamptonshire County Records Office drawings collection.
