SO 70 SW SLIMBRIDGE ST JOHN'S ROAD 1/84M (east side)

Group of three unidentified tombs c7-15 m north of sacristy at Church of GV St John the Evangelist

(i) Lofty chest tomb. Mid C18. Limestone. Reserved corners, moulded top, base not visible at time of survey, frieze and base with cartouche to west and circular raised panel east; circular panel with guilloche and leaf decoration, north, plain sunk rectangular, south. Inscriptions not legible. The northernmost of the group.

(ii) Chest tomb. Early C18. Limestone. Very thick cyma top, base not visible at time of survey. Lyre ends with cartouches, cartouche with supporters, north, sink moulded rectangular with carved drapes, south. Inscriptions not legible.

(iii) Chest tomb. Early C18. Limestone. Very thick cyma top, base not visible at time of survey. Lyre ends, cartouche with open book, east, flanning urn, west. Sunk panel with supporters north and south. Inscriptions not legible. Southernmost of the group.
