Detached house. Early C17; early and mid C19 alterations and additions. Random rubble with some roughcast render, ashlar to Cl9 west range; ashlar and blue brick rebuilt chimneys; stone slate roof. Two-storey with attic; large 2-storey Cl9 west facing wing. South front: gable end of Cl9 west range to left of C19 rebuilt or restored 2-storey porch with tall 2-light upper floor mullioned casement. Two-window cavetto mullioned fenestration to right, all 4-light with hoodmoulds. Above right casements is C19 rebuilt full gable with small attic casement. East side: parapet gable end to left with central projecting chimmney stack. Attached 2-storey Cl9 wing runs back to right with Tudor arched doorway facing directly onto lane. West front: mid C19 Gothic style. Two-storey canted bay window to left of centre, with trefoil headed mullioned lights and coped hipped top. Pedimented porch to right also with Gothic openings. Various other casements, some Tudor arched. Parapet rises in centre. Interior not inspected. Overgrown and not totally accessible at time of survey (October 1986). (W.J. Sheils, 'Horsley' in V.C.H.
