Description
Wortley Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse constructed from squared rubble with a stone slate roof. The building is L-shaped, featuring a large Cotswold gable that is off-centre to the right. It has two dressed stone stacks and stands two storeys high, plus a roof space. The facade includes three windows, which are three or four-light casements from the 19th century, fitted with iron lights and square leaded panels. There is a wood louvred opening in the gable that leads to the cheese loft. The porch has a plain plank door. The farmhouse was likely built in two phases, with a large gate that was originally positioned centrally. There is a derelict outshut on the right side. It was formerly known as Elmtree Farm, as indicated on Ordnance Maps.
