Description

A pair of detached cottages, likely originally a single dwelling, dating from the 18th century. The cottages are constructed of rubble, with a pantile roof, originally a single span. Extensions have been added, including porches on the entrance side, a lean-to on the left, and a section on the garden front, all with pantile roofing. A large end stone stack is located on the right side.

The garden front is two storeys high and features a two-window arrangement. The windows are 2-light casements, without glazing bars in the first cottage, but with bars in the second. A small sash window with glazing bars is located in the left gable, providing access to the roof space. The entrance front has new 2-light casements in the first cottage and a 1-light window combined with a 2-light casement in the second. A new glazed door is in the porch of the first cottage, and a new battened door is positioned between the windows of the second.

These cottages, together with The Chantry and Thatched Cottage, form a group situated in a short lane branching off the Wotton-Aldeley road.
