Description
Courthouse Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse located on the east side of High Street in Lower Cam. The building is rendered, possibly over brick, with one area of brick walling visible on the back wall of the main south-facing wing. It features a stone slate roof and has an L-plan layout with a gabled but hip ornate return. The chimney stacks are located at the main gable on the left and near the ridge of the right-hand return. At the back of the east wing, there is a lower dairy wing that projects out.
The main front of the farmhouse has two storeys and four windows. On the ground floor, there are three 3-light windows, while the first floor has four 2-light windows that are unevenly spaced. A modern door and porch are situated off-centre to the left. The return wing is constructed of rubble and contains one long stair light and another window, returning to a gable that has one window. Additionally, there are two 3-light windows and one 2-light window with leaded glazing in the attic space, all under segmental heads with stone voussoirs. A cheese louvre is present in the dormer on the north face of the main wing. The interior has not been inspected.
