Description

No. 3, Dyers Brook is a detached house dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of rendered rubble with moulded stone parapet coping and a concrete tile roof. The house comprises a wide front block and a parallel range that is half the width, both with hipped roofs, although the front block has a parapet facing the street. A later extension is set on the right-hand side. The entire building now sits below recently raised road levels, with a splayed and curved corner on the left return. The house is two storeys and three windows wide. The upper floor has two-light sash windows flanked by a central single sash window, all without bars. There are two later canted bays with metal windows to the ground floor. Large single sash windows, also without bars, are found at the rear. The central entrance has a four-panel door set within heavy stone flat pilasters and a flat hood supported by consoles.
