Description

Court Lodge and gateway are located approximately 60 meters north-west of Frocester Court. The lodge features an attached gatehouse and dog kennels, with additional outbuildings. The outbuildings date from the late 15th or early 16th century, while the lodge is from the late 16th century, and the gatehouse and kennels are from the early 17th century. The structure is built of random rubble limestone, with artificial stone rebuilt chimneys, a stone slate roof, and clay pantiles on the outbuilding. The gatehouse is timber framed.

The two-storey lodge has an outbuilding to the south-west and the gatehouse to the north-east, with the kennels beyond. Each side of the lodge features a full parapet gable with two-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements and hood moulds. The central doorway on the south-east side is flanked by two single-light and one two-light casement under a combining hood mould. The outbuilding has a parapet gabled end from the monastic period, with a lean-to that includes a reset quatrefoil vent. The cross-gabled gatehouse is supported by high base walls and features small-paned timber framing with decorative panels, which are early 20th-century replicas, while the moulded bressumer is original. There is a lead-latticed casement on the south-east side. Adjacent to the gatehouse are low dog-kennels with recessed chamfered single-light openings and a cross roll saddle to the gable end with a quatrefoil vent. The interior has not been inspected.
