Description

The conduit and vaulted culvert, located approximately 60 meters south of Prospect Terrace, dates from the 18th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble limestone and features a round arched opening with a flat hood projection. The vaulted tunnel extends back into the bank, channeling a spring stream. Inside the arch, the stream is directed down a drain. This culvert is one of several that manage the spring streams in Chalford Hill, notable for its finely-built vaulting.
