Description

SO 8403-8503 RODBOROUGH BATH ROAD (east side) 15/95 Barn immediately north of Achards (previouly listed with The Archards 28.6.60

GV II Barn, now linked to Achards (q.v.). Early C18; C20 alterations. Random rubble limestone, partially rendered; stone slate roof. Barn with south porch; upper floor inserted. South side: central projecting porch with blocked barn doorway; 3 rows of pigeon holes with perches and single pigeon holes around attic light above. C20 casements inserted in rendered part to left. West end: 2-light casement to ground floor with single light above in reduced opening; 2 raking rendered buttresses. Leaded attic casement with timber lintel. North side: low central doorway with timber lintel and plank doors; C19 stable doorway right with stone lintel. Upper floor doorway to left where built into bank. East end: upper floor doorway with timber lintel and plank door; fixed-light to left. Blocked openings above with timber lintels. Interior: altered in C19 to form stable at west end. Collar truss roof to porch; roof otherwise early C20 replacement.
