Description

Cobbler's Cottage and Pendle Cottage are two attached houses dating from the late 17th century, with a mid-18th century addition. They are constructed of random rubble limestone, with brick and artificial stone rebuilt chimneys, and feature a stone slate roof. The buildings are two-storey with an attic.

The right side, Pendle Cottage, has a full gable and includes three-light chamfered mullioned casements on both the ground and upper floors, and a two-light window in the attic gable. There is a doorway with a timber lintel to the left, which has an iron casement above it. To the left is Cobbler's Cottage, which appears to be a later addition and features a two-window timber casement arrangement, including two gabled roof dormers with 20th-century casements mounted at the eaves. A central 20th-century gabled porch has been added. There is a brick chimney mounted on the ridge at the junction of the two houses.

At the north end, there is a blocked doorway with a timber lintel and a timber casement window in the attic, also with a timber lintel. The rear of the building has a gable on the left with a lean-to, while a flat-roofed addition is noted as not being of special interest. The interior has not been inspected.
