Description

Olde Ponde House is a detached house, originally a row of three, dating to the late 17th century. It is constructed of random rubble limestone, with a rebuilt rubble chimney and a roof of stone slate and concrete tiles. The two-storey house has an attic. The front gable on the right has a two-window, three-light chamfered mullioned casement arrangement with hoodmoulds; the ground-floor windows are 20th-century replacements. A single two-light attic casement is present with a blocked oval window above. Scattered windows to the left of the front feature a mix of two- and three-light casements with hoodmoulds. A central rubble-built porch with a hipped roof and a 20th-century door is present. The south end is roughcast rendered with 20th-century casements and an off-centre rubble chimney. The north end has restored 20th-century mullioned windows, with a blocked oval window above. The rear gable is on the left with a blocked two-light casement. Otherwise, the rear features scattered windows, generally three-light on the ground floor and two-light above, most of which are 20th-century restorations. The interior has not been inspected.
