Description
Madison House is a late 18th-century house that also operated as a restaurant at the time of listing. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features a concrete tile roof. The building has a broad block with a long wing at the back, which has a part hipped roof. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and has three windows across the front. The ground floor includes two 15-pane sash windows, while the first floor has three 12-pane sash windows. All windows have plat-band surrounds with keystones and square section cills, along with two two-light horizontal sashes with bars in the roof. The central entrance features a six-panel door set in a wide, simply moulded surround, which replaced a former Corinthian portico. To the low right, there is a two-light opening leading to the basement.
