Description

Moonrakers is a late 18th or early 19th century house located on the north-west side of New Street, Painswick. The house is constructed of squared, dressed limestone with a stone slate front roof and Welsh slate rear roof slopes. It has brick gable stacks. The building comprises two storeys and an attic, with a three-window front. It features a plinth and a plain string course at first floor level. At ground floor level is a large 19th-century shop front, originally measuring 6 by 9 panes, with a bowed front, and a central 12-pane sash window alongside a 20th-century door under a large transom light, all within a matching 20th-century surround. The first floor has three 12-pane sash windows. There are two 2-light hipped casement dormers in the attic. The building is primarily included on the register for its group value.
