Description
This small building, formerly a coach house and now a detached house, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar limestone and has an asbestos slate roof. The building is single-storey and has a small rectangular shape with parapet gable ends. The west gable features a steep pediment and a blocked oculus in the tympanum. There is a rusticated round archway that has been later infilled. A plain hood band rises over the arch and continues along the elevation to the left, where there is a small round-arched doorway with imposts and a keystone, leading to a six-panel door. On the south side, facing the street, there is a blocked round-arched doorway. An attached outbuilding on the north side is not of special interest. The property is partially enclosed by a pair of square piers with short lengths of iron railings. It is possibly built to house the town's fire engine.
