Description

This is a detached house incorporating a shop and post office on the ground floor, dating from the late 18th or early 19th century. The building is constructed of brick, with a concrete tile roof. It features a painted moulded cornice and dentils, a stepped two-brick string course, and brick end stacks with moulded caps. The main range is three storeys high, with a two-storey rear range to the right and a single-storey wing to the left. The front of the building has three windows; the second floor has 12-pane sashes (4 over 8), the first floor has 16-pane sashes, and all windows are surrounded by large painted keystones and voussoirs. The ground floor has inserted canted bay shop windows, likely dating from the 19th century, and a central doorcase with a moulded wooden segmental pediment and a half-glazed door. A small single-storey wing to the right contains the post office and features a large 8-pane window.
