Description
Elm Tree Cottage is a detached corner cottage, likely built in the early 17th century. It is constructed of brick, with a timber-framed gable end on the left that has brick infill. The cottage features a thatched roof with a decorative ridge and a tall brick stack that has grouped flues and has been raised twice in brick.
The building is a small single range with a lobby entry, consisting of a single storey and an attic. To the left, there is a single-storey lean-to, and at the rear, there is a later wing that originally had a coach arch, which has now been infilled to create garage doors, along with a projecting canopy that serves as a bus shelter.
The cottage has a large gable facing south towards The Green, with one paired casement window to the right featuring a concrete lintel, and a similar window below it. To the left, there is another window with a brick flat arch, and a plank door is located below the stack.
