Description
This is a stable with a loft above, located approximately 30 meters southeast of Sydenhams Farmhouse. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and is constructed of random rubble limestone with a stone slate roof. The stable features an outshut that projects forward at the south end. On the west side, there is a stable doorway with a keyed round arch, and to the left, there is a two-light timber shuttered opening with a timber lintel. A stone staircase leads to the loft, with a landing slab that spans the gap to a gabled loft doorway, which has a plank door. The outshut has a catslide that projects forward to the right, and there is a two-light loft casement on the north gable end, complete with gable end finials. The interior has not been inspected.
