Description
The barn at Stancombe Ash Farm dates from the mid to late 18th century and is constructed from random rubble limestone with a stone slate roof. It features a six-bay design, with a central west porch and an outshut, as well as a cartshed at the south end. The central west porch has a hipped roof, plank doors, and a timber lintel. To the right of the porch, there is a single-storey lean-to with a plank door. The barn has slit vents and the cartshed at the south end has been modified with vertical plank infill and a small-paned casement window. There is a central doorway on the east side, also with a plank door and timber lintel. Inside, the barn has a six-bay collar and tie-beam truss roof.
