Description

The boundary wall located to the west of and adjoining number 4 on Severn Street is an early 19th-century structure. It is built of cast slag block resting on a rubble base, topped with four courses of brick. The wall stands approximately 2 meters high and extends about 10 meters in length, running uphill from number 4 towards number 8 Severn Street, which is not included in this listing. This wall is a notable surviving example of the use of cast dross block from the former glass industry in Newnham and serves as an important closure for this section of Severn Street.
