Description
The Hall monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, about 4 meters west of the north-west corner of the tower of the Church of St. John the Evangelist. It commemorates Elizabeth Hall, who died in 1829. The tomb is made of stone and features a markedly weathered lid with a moulded edge. It has quarter rectangular corner balusters and the sides are framed to a sunk panel, which includes a slightly raised rectangle with scalloped corners and corner paterae. The east end mirrors the sides but lacks the paterae, while the west end is weathered. The monument has a moulded base and includes later inscriptions, as well as references to children who predeceased their mother.
