Description
The Hall monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 11.5 meters south of the south-west corner of the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul. It dates from the early 1770s and is made of stone. The tomb features a flat lid with a chamfered edge and a wide overhang. The corners are adorned with quarter-square gadrooned balusters, and there are floral and leaf designs on a stem. The north face has a fielded panel, while the south side displays rococo carving around the panel, including carved heads near the ends at the top. The rococo carving frames the panel, with the edges of the panels curving back to enhance the projection of the carving. The monument commemorates Isaac Hall, who died in 1771, and his wife, who died in 1773. There are also later inscriptions, including one on the lid.
