Description

This milestone, located on the east side of Gloucester Road in Hartpury, dates from the early 19th century and is made of stone. It has a thick structure with a cambered top. The upper part of the face is dressed slightly back to hold an inscription, while the rest of the surface is hammer dressed. The lettering is in sans serif style, and the background is painted white. The inscription reads 'GLOSTER/4/MILES'.
