Description
Longridge Farm is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with later alterations. It features brick-nogged timber framing, painted brickwork, and a tiled roof. The building consists of two bays, with a single-bay cross wing that forms an L shape, and is 1 and a half storeys high, along with a 2-bay, single-storey extension to the cross wing.
The cross wing is located on the left side facing the road, displaying three-panel high framing on the left and rebuilt brickwork on the right. It has a two-light casement window with an iron opening light and a boarded door, both topped with cambered brick heads. The roof on the left has a hip, and there is a two-light casement window in a gabled dormer, along with a timber-framed gable on the right return.
To the right, there is a single-storey brick wing featuring a single-pane window on the left, a boarded door, and a main post. A tapering brick chimney is positioned on the ridge near the framed gable. The left return has slightly higher eaves, with the first section being timber-framed and an extra rail in the top panel, while the second section is brick. It includes a three-light casement window with an iron opening light and weatherboarding above, a blocked window to the left with a cambered brick arch, and a vertical joint in the brickwork about 225mm short of the corner. There is also a three-light casement window with an iron opening light on the first floor and an external brick chimney on the end gable.
