Description

Pound Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse featuring a timber-framed structure with brick nogging and a brick plinth. The left gable has been rebuilt using English bond brickwork, and the building has a tiled roof. It consists of a three-bay, one-and-a-half-storey range, with a single bay that is two storeys high at one end. There is a part lean-to at the back, and the house is generally one room deep.

The facade facing the road shows two panels of framing on the left, with a short section rebuilt in brick that contains a two-light casement window set under a cambered brick arch. To the right, there is a main post and a similar window in the timber-framed section, along with an external chimney and a small brick lean-to. Further to the right, there are two-light and three-light casement windows with opening lights. A rendered lean-to garage was added in 1984.

On the first floor, the left bay features two-panel high framing, while the right half has been replaced with brick but retains the main post and wallplate, along with a four-light casement window. There is also a two-light casement window in a gabled dormer to the right, a tall brick chimney for the external stack, and another chimney extending from the eaves to the right of the lean-to. The right return of the building is timber-framed behind the garage, and the right gable belongs to the two-storey block. The entrance is located on the back elevation. Inside, there is a wide, hollow chamfer on the exposed ceiling beam in the room at the left end, and exposed beams can be seen in the ground floor ceilings of the two rooms on the right.
