Description
Rose Cottage is a detached cottage dated 1830. It is constructed from squared and coursed sandstone with limestone quoins and has a concrete tile roof. The building is set against a hill slope and features a plain block extended for a newel stair at the back, with stacks located at the gables and off-centre to the ridge on the right. The cottage has been used as two dwellings. It is two storeys high and has two plus one windows, all of which are small 2-light casements beneath stone lintels and with stone cills. There is a good 4-panel door on the left under a flat stone slab hood supported by brackets, and an old plank door on the right. A date stone is located above the panelled door.
