Description

Hitchings is a detached cottage dated 1829. It is constructed from coursed and squared sandstone with quoins and features a stone slate roof. The building has a plain block design, with a catslide roof over the rear extension. It stands two storeys high and has two windows; the ground floor has sash windows without bars, while the first floor features 2-light casements with bars. The entrance includes a six-panel fielded door topped by a stone slab hood supported on brackets. This cottage is slightly more elaborate than others in the area. The nearby Cider Mill was likely originally part of this property.
