Description

Red Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the second quarter of the 19th century. It features Flemish bond brickwork and a slate roof, designed in an 'L' plan with a front that is six windows wide and a rear extension. The window openings are arranged in two groups of three, with a wider gap in the center. To the right, there is a tent roof over three openings with decorative iron framing below. Behind this, two French doors are set high with marginal lights. On the left side, there is a glazed front door with marginal lights and a blocked rectangular fanlight featuring a St. Andrew's Cross. Next to it, another French door has stepped stone voussoirs with a projecting keystone, and beyond this, the wall is plain. The first floor has six 16-pane sash windows with stone sills, and their heads match the French doors below. The eaves feature a box gutter on dentil corbels, and the roof is hipped with lead hips and a ridge. There is a large brick chimney below the ridge behind the second window from the left, a small chimney in the center, and another on the right return that partly projects from the fabric and has tumbled offsets. Beyond, there is a canted two-storey bay with sash windows, a flat roof, and a moulded fascia. The interior has not been inspected.
