Description
Durbridge Mill Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the second quarter of the 19th century. It features Flemish bond brickwork and a slate roof with lead hips. The front of the house is symmetrical with three windows and is two rooms deep, rising to two storeys. A central front door is accessed by two stone steps and has three panels, with the bottom panel flush and the top two glazed. The door is framed by panelled reveals and has very thin capitals on the pilasters on either side, topped with a flat porch roof supported by iron rods.
On either side of the entrance are single-storey canted bays with sash windows and flat lead roofs. The first floor has three 16-pane sash windows with rubbed brick arches above them. The eaves have a flat, plastered soffit, and the roof is hipped. There are plain brick chimneys at the eaves on each side of the front corners. At the rear, there is a slight projection in the centre of the wall for the stairs, with chimneys located at each side for the rear corners.
