Description
Southrop Farmhouse is a detached house dating from the early 18th century, with some restoration from the 20th century on the southeast part. It is constructed of random rubble limestone, with rubble chimneys and a stone slate roof. The main section is two stories high with an attic, and there is a two-story addition to the southeast. The front features a two-window arrangement in the oldest part, with all windows being three-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements that have hoodmoulds and leaded casements. There is a central doorway with a 20th-century door and a gabled porch, along with two gabled roof dormers. The southeast addition has had its mullioned windows restored in the 20th century. The house has three chimneys mounted on the ridge. At the rear, there is a gabled wing with two-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements that also have hoodmoulds. The interior has not been inspected.
