Description
The Wild Duck Inn is an inn that is reputed to date back to 1563 in part, with later enlargements to both sides and the rear in the 20th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone slate roof. The building has an external stone stack on the single storey section and stone end stacks on the taller section, which is located to the right. The main part of the inn is a long range with two heights. The taller section to the right has two storeys and an attic, featuring a small 2-light stone mullion casement window in the center on the first floor and a small 2-light wood casement window with a timber lintel below on the ground floor. The single storey section to the left has a wide entrance door from the 20th century to the right, which is topped by a slightly cambered stone hood, and a very small arched light to the left. Inside this section, there are stop-chamfered beams and a large cambered bressumer fireplace.
