Description

Ewen Farm House is a detached farmhouse dating to the late 18th or early 19th century. It is constructed of random coursed rubble stone with alternating flush quoins, and has a stone slate roof with end stacks. The main south-facing front range is two storeys and an attic, with lower rear cross wings, possibly incorporating earlier fabric, forming a squarish block. The front has three windows: two triple-sash windows with 4/16/4 panes of glass are flanked by a central 16-pane sash, all with cambered stone voussoir heads. Three hipped dormers are set into the eaves, each with paired 6-pane casement windows. On the ground floor, there are two triple-sash windows and a central door. The door is of six panels, with the top two glazed and the rest flush, set within a moulded wooden surround, and is topped by an arched wooden hood on struts. All ground floor openings have cambered stone voussoir heads.
