Description

The Old Forge is an early 18th-century detached house with an adjoining former forge, forming an L-shaped layout. It is constructed of rubble stone with a stone slate roof, and features four stone stacks. The main west-facing front has five windows: two three-light casements to the left, and two three-light windows with a central single light to the right. All windows have timber lintels. The ground floor on the left has double, fully glazed doors, while the right side features two three-light windows and a projecting gabled porch of the 19th century. The porch is half stone and half glazed with moulded framing, containing double half-glazed doors within an arched entrance. The rear of the main house includes a single-storey, slate-roofed lean-to added in the late 19th century.
