CHEDWORTH - SP 01 SW 2/38 Woodlands Farmhouse

Farmhouse, dated 1834 on porch gable. Coursed squared and dressed limestone; stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. Rectangular main body with an extension to the north gable end. Main body: 2 storeys and attic with 2-storey extension with single-storey lean- to at front. Symmetrical 3-windowed facade to the main body with 2-light wooden casements with flat-chamfered stone surrounds to the ground floor. Two-light stone-mullioned casements to the first floor; similar arrangement of windows to the south gable end; blind single-light window to the attic. All windows to main body with hoods with diamond stops. Central C19 four-panelled door within a projecting gabled porch with a flat-chamfered Tudor-arched entrance with single-light windows to the returns. Two 2-light casements to the extension which is otherwise largely obscured by the lean-to with a 2-light half dormer. Moulded kneelers to the gable ends. Roll saddle to the left gable end. Lateral stack with twin shafts and gable-end stacks. Stepped coping, triangular kneelers and finial to the porch. Interior not inspected.
