Description
Woodlands Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1834, located in Chedworth. It is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone and features a stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. The main structure is rectangular, with two storeys and an attic, and includes a two-storey extension at the north gable end, along with a single-storey lean-to at the front.
The main body has a symmetrical facade with three windows, featuring 2-light wooden casements with flat-chamfered stone surrounds on the ground floor. The first floor has two-light stone-mullioned casements, and there is a similar arrangement of windows on the south gable end, along with a blind single-light window in the attic. All windows in the main body have hoods with diamond stops.
The central entrance is a 19th-century four-panelled door set within a projecting gabled porch, which has a flat-chamfered Tudor-arched entrance and single-light windows on the sides. The extension has two 2-light casements but is mostly hidden by the lean-to, which also features a 2-light half dormer. The gable ends have moulded kneelers, and the left gable end has a roll saddle. There is a lateral stack with twin shafts and gable-end stacks, along with stepped coping, triangular kneelers, and a finial on the porch. The interior has not been inspected.
