Description

These three cottages, numbers 8, 9, and 10, stand in a row on the north side of High Street, Withington. They were built in the 19th and 20th centuries. The cottages are constructed with coursed squared and dressed limestone, have a stone slate roof, and feature stone stacks. They have a rectangular plan, with extensions added to the rear. The two-storey facade has six windows, with six Cotswold dormers on the upper floor, each containing a 2-light wooden casement with horizontal glazing bars. The ground floor also has 2 and 3-light casement windows. Each cottage has a 19th-century plank door. Gable and axial stacks are visible. The interiors have not been inspected. These cottages represent a modest but complete example of a row of cottages.
