Description

The ha ha and footbridges in front of The Old Rectory date from the late 18th century. The retaining walls that form the sides of the ha ha are made of coursed squared and dressed limestone. The bridges are also constructed from coursed squared and finely dressed limestone. The ha ha features a sunken footpath that runs from the gate piers at the entrance to The Old Rectory. There are two single span ridges positioned at an angle to the line of the ha ha in front of the house. The wall closest to the house is ramped up and has saddleback capping adjacent to the bridges.
