Description
This is a detached outbuilding located approximately 10 meters to the northeast of numbers 1 to 9 Arlington Row in Bibury, dating from the mid to late 17th century. It is constructed of random rubble limestone and features a stone slate roof. The building is small and rectangular, with gables at both the east and west ends, the eastern gable having an apex slit vent. There is a doorway on the south side, which has a timber lintel and a plank door. At the east end, there are various iron plaques, as well as a stone inscribed with the words 'ARLINGTON ROW Bought & repaired by the Royal Society of Arts AD 1929'. The outbuilding stands next to a mill stream and is included for its group value with numbers 1 to 9 Arlington Row, which are located on the south side of Awkward Hill. It is owned by The National Trust.
