Description

Rosemary Cottage is a detached house, originally two houses, dating from the early 18th century. It is situated in Bibury, on Awkward Hill. The construction incorporates random rubble limestone, with an artificial stone chimney and a stone slate roof. The building is composed of two parts which step up the hill, each two stories high.

The lower section, to the left, features a half gable with a single casement window below, both with timber lintels. An outshut projects to the right with a lean-to roof. The upper section of the building has a casement window in its half gable to the right; below is a doorway with a timber lintel and a plank door, and a casement window with a timber lintel to its right. On the west end is a gable with an attached conservatory porch, and a casement window above with a timber lintel. A blocked opening is visible in the gable apex. The interior has not been inspected. Rosemary Cottage forms part of a group of buildings including numbers 1 to 9 (consecutive) Arlington Row.
