Description
Dairy Cottage is a detached house located approximately 90 metres south of Moor Wood. It dates from the mid-17th century and is constructed of limestone rubble with a stone slate roof and ashlar stacks. The building has a rectangular main body, with a later extension at right angles to the rear and a lean-to extension on the right gable end.
The facade is two-storey with four windows, featuring two and three-light wooden casements. The ground floor casements have glazing bars, while the first floor casements have horizontal glazing bars. Most windows are topped with timber lintels, although one window has a flat-arched head. The central entrance is a 19th-century plank door with a single glass pane. At the rear left, there is a three-light hollow-chamfered stone-mullioned casement. The left gable end has a projecting stack, and there is also a stack at the right gable end. The interior has not been inspected.
