Description

COLD ASTON alias COLD ASTON VILLAGE SP 11 NW ASTON BLANK 6/7 Outbuilding c12m north of the Vicarage GV II Outbuilding. C18 altered C19. Limestone rubble, stone slate roof. Rectangular plan. Lean-to greenhouse not of special interest. Single storey and loft. Wall facing house, double width C19 segmental-headed entrance towards left-hand end. Flat-chamfered round-headed doorway (possibly reused) with plank door far right. Nine-pane casement left with almost flat segmental-headed surround. Single light with horizontal casement upper left. Pitching window with plank door in left gable end. Pigeon loft with landing platforms above. Two-light stone-mullioned window to loft at right gable end. Blocked flat-chamfered door surround in wall facing road. Illegible inscription or graffiti on one of jamb stones. Interior not inspected. Left end probably used to house pony trap.
