Description

This is an outbuilding located approximately 12 metres north of the Vicarage in Cold Aston, dating from the 18th century and altered in the 19th century. It is constructed from limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof with a rectangular plan. The building is single storey with a loft and includes a lean-to greenhouse that is not of special interest.

The wall facing the house has a double-width 19th-century segmental-headed entrance towards the left-hand end. There is a flat-chamfered round-headed doorway, which may be reused, with a plank door located at the far right. To the left, there is a nine-pane casement window with an almost flat segmental-headed surround, and a single light with a horizontal casement is positioned upper left. The left gable end has a pitching window with a plank door, and there is a pigeon loft with landing platforms above. A two-light stone-mullioned window is present at the right gable end. Additionally, there is a blocked flat-chamfered door surround in the wall facing the road, and an illegible inscription or graffiti can be found on one of the jamb stones. The interior has not been inspected, but the left end of the building is likely used to house a pony trap.
