Description
Hampen House is a detached house dating from the mid to late 18th century, with 19th and 20th-century extensions in the Cotswold style. It is built of random dressed limestone and has a stone slate roof, with stone stacks, one of which has been repaired in brick. The main body of the house is rectangular and features a two-storey facade with five windows. All windows are 12-pane sashes with horns, set within plain architraves that include keystones. A French window with horizontal glazing bars is located over the porch, which has mid-19th-century double doors with fielded panels. The porch also has fixed casements with marginal glazing bars in its side walls. At the rear, there are two half dormers that are lit by 2-light stone-mullioned casements with leaded panes. The gable ends have flat coping, and there are gable end and axial stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
