Description
Ivy Bank Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the 17th and early 18th centuries, with a 19th-century extension. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone with a concrete tile roof, and includes a 20th-century brick stack. The original 17th-century part of the cottage is rectangular and has a single bay 19th-century extension to its right gable end. The 17th- and early 18th-century section is 1½ storeys high and features two-light stone-mullioned casement windows on the ground floor. A 19th-century plank door, fitted with a thumb latch and within a 20th-century latticework porch, is located on the left side. The 19th-century extension is two storeys high with two-light casement windows to both the ground and first floors. A gable end stack is located on the right gable end of the 17th-century part. The left gable end has a roll saddle and a two-light stone-mullioned casement situated towards the apex. The interior of the cottage has not been inspected. The building exhibits group value.
