Description

Spring Cottage is a detached house with an attached barn, dating to the 19th century and 17th century respectively. The house is constructed of coursed, squared, and dressed limestone, with a stone slate roof and stone stacks. A corrugated asbestos roof covers a lean-to extension, while the barn has a corrugated-iron roof (formerly thatched). The building has an 'L' shape, with the barn projecting forwards to the left of the house. The two-storey house has a three-windowed facade featuring 12-pane sash windows with horns. A 20th-century plank door is positioned off-centre to the right, set within a flat-chamfered surround. The house has an axial and gable-end stack with a moulded capping. The barn has a plank door on the left side and a large 12-pane window on the right. Inside the barn are three bays with original roof trusses featuring collar and tie beams and a yolk at the apex. The interior of the house was not inspected.
